Mythological and Scientific reason of Narak Chaturdashi.

Mythological and Scientific reason of Narak Chaturdashi.

We all know this festival is also famous by the name of Narak Chaudas and Narak Chaturdashi. It is believed that on the day of Kartik Krishna Chaturdashi, one gets freedom from Narak  by applying oil and putting Apamarg (Chichri) leaves in water and taking bath in the morning. The person who worships according to the rituals becomes free from all sins and attains heaven.

There is a tradition of Deepdan in the evening which is done for Yamraj. It would not be appropriate to call Diwali a one day festival. From the point of view of the importance and greatness of this festival, it is a very important festival and festival of Hindus. It is a festival in the middle of a series of five festivals such as the king among the ministerial community. Two days before Diwali, Dhan-Trayodashi (Dhanteras) then Narak Chaturdashi (Nark Chaudas) and Chhoti Diwali, then Diwali and Govardhan Puja and Bali Pratipada, Bhratri-Dwitiya (Bhai Dooj).

Narak Chaturdashi is also called Choti Diwali. It is called Choti Diwali because a day before Diwali, the darkness of the night is driven away by the light beam by lighting the lamp in the same way as on the night of Diwali. There are many mythological stories and folk beliefs regarding the practice of lighting lamps on this night. (According to a legend, on this day, Lord Shri Krishna had killed the tyrannical and wicked Narakasura and freed sixteen thousand and one hundred girls from the prison of Narakasura and honored them. On this occasion, a procession of lamps is decorated.)

Another story regarding the fast and worship of this day is that there was a virtuous and religious king named Ranti Dev. He had not committed any sin even unknowingly, but when the time of death came, Yamdoots appeared before him. The king was surprised to see Yamdoot in front of him and said, I have never committed any sin, then why have you people come to take me because your coming here means that I will have to go to Narak. Please be kind to me and tell me because of which crime of mine I have to go to Narak. Hearing the persuasive words of the virtuous king, Yamdoot said, O king, once a hungry Brahmin returned from your door, this is the result of that sinful act.

On hearing this from the messengers, the king said to the Yamdoots that I request you to give me more time of the year. The eunuchs gave the king one year’s time. The king went to the sages with his problem and after telling them the whole story, asked them, please, what is the solution to get rid of this sin. The sage said, O king, observe a fast on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month, feed the Brahmins and apologize to them for your crimes against them.

The king did as the sages told him. In this way the king was freed from his sins and got a place in the world of Vishnu. From that day onwards, fasting on the day of Kartik Chaturdashi is prevalent in the earth for freedom from sin and hell. On this day, there is great significance in waking up before sunrise, applying oil and adding chirchiri leaves in water and taking bath with it. Having darshan of God in Vishnu temple and Krishna temple after bathing is said to be extremely virtuous. This removes sin and gives beauty.

Chaturdashi of Kartik Krishna Paksha is known as Narak Chaturdashi, Roop Chaturdashi and Chhoti Diwali for the above reasons. And after this, Diwali, Godhan Puja and Bhai Dooj (Bhratri-Dwitiya) are celebrated respectively.

Let us know the scientific reasons

On this day, a special type of line is formed in the solar system which we call Apamarg. Apamarg means those paths which encourage us to do wrong deeds. On this day, the entire family comes together to light a lamp or perform fire rituals. So that we remember the fire and promise ourselves that we will not do any wrong deeds so that we do not suffer the pain of hell or stay away from such people who encourage us to do such wrong deeds.

With this, we too, like Lord Krishna, kill the demons who are inside us or around us.

By the way, Apamarga is also the name of a tree in our Ayurveda Shastra. This tree has many specialties, one of which is that if you pass this tree or if you make a promise to yourself by agni prajwalan, then you will get the complete fulfillment. In a way, they deserve positive energy.
