Ambubachi and Anavasar: Two Paths, One Realization

Ambubachi and Anavasar: Two paths, same experience
This is not a history, but a mysterious and silent diary of creation.

In the month of Ashadh, a mysterious coincidence occurs at two special religious places of India –
On one side is Shri Jagannath of Nilanchal, and on the other side is Goddess Kamakhya of Neelparvat.
Both the deities turn inward, go to rest at the same time.
Although their traditions are different, the purpose is one –
To return to oneself, to rebuild oneself.

Kamakhya and Ambubachi – a silent celebration of power

Ambubachi festival is celebrated at this time in the temple of Kamakhya Devi.

It is a popular belief that the Goddess menstruates during these three days.

The doors of the temple are closed. No worship is done, no prayers are offered.

Because the Goddess herself enters the womb of creation at that time.

This blood is not considered impure here, but sacred —

This is the blood from which life is born, from which the foundations of civilizations are laid.

Ambubachi is not a fast, not a fear —

It is the silent worship of womanhood.

Jagannath and Anavasara — Man’s inner sadhana

On the other hand, around the same time,

Puri’s Sri Jagannath bathes with 108 pots and then becomes “unwell”.

This unwellness is not a physical sign, but a spiritual one —

He manifests himself in human form, so rest is also necessary.

He is given medicine, made to rest for 15 days in the sanctum sanctorum.

This period is called Anavasara.

No darshan, no celebration —

Only waiting, only inner preparation.

Ambubachi and Anavasara — there is harmony, not opposition

These two events cannot be seen separately —

On one hand, the menstrual cycle of a woman, on the other hand, the resting cycle of a man.

One creates the universe through her body,

The other, in silence, becomes capable of holding that universe.

This teaches us that —

“Even gods want rest,

Even goddesses get tired.

Rest is not a weakness,

but an absolute necessity before creation.”

This is an internal sadhana —

where both Shakti and Shiva descend into silence and reinvent themselves.
